Dinner for a cause powers ‘Adopt a School Program’

AUCKLAND – A key project of the Alpha Phi Omega Alumni Association Inc., in Auckland is supporting disadvantaged school children in the Philippines. On the 13th of February the group is organising a dinner and music event to raise funds for this year’s ‘Adopt a School Program.’

“Ever since we were students in universities and colleges in the Philippines we have been involved in this fund raising activity,” says APO president, Raden Chavez. “This year we are supporting Kapoc Elementary School in Davao de Oro and Cabaruan Elementary School in Pangasinan.”

The event will be held at Our Lady of Assumption Parish Hall in Onehunga and the ticket is $35 a plate. And popular Hamilton based singers Althea and James Marc have been lined up for the dinner party.

APO’s New Zealand Alumni Association (APOANZAA) was established in 2009 in Auckland. It was incorporated last year. It currently has 55 members. There are APO groups in Wellington and Christchurch as well.
